Wildflower seed and meadow turf for Styrian ground.

We grow the seed on our own field outside Graz and cut the turf to order. You tell us the ground, we tell you what will grow on it.

Seed

Five mixes and yellow rattle on its own, all grown and cleaned on our own field and all native to this part of Austria. Prices start at €14.50 for 100 g of Garden Meadow, which sows 25 m². We post seed anywhere in Austria within 3 working days, free on orders over €120.

Each mix is matched to a kind of ground rather than a colour scheme: thin sunny banks, shady hedge bottoms, a school patch, a roadside verge. Here is how much you need for your patch.

Meadow Turf

A mat of soil, roots and around 25 species, grown on our field for 14 months before we cut it. It costs €19.50 per m² collected from the field, with a minimum of 20 m² and 10 working days from your order to cutting.

It is heavier than lawn turf and it has to be down within 24 hours of cutting, so read what laying involves before you book, or ask us about your ground.

A roadside verge in section: the road edge, a strip mown short beside it, the sown meadow beyond and a bank rising behind Road Mown short Sown meadow, cut once

Schools and Verges

A school sowing morning is €390 for up to 30 pupils, with the seed, rakes and boards for a 50 m² patch. For verges, banks and village greens we start with a survey and a written seed specification for €180, taken off any verge order over €1,500.

Here is what a sowing morning looks like, and how a verge job runs from survey to the first cut.
